Realising Opportunities

Are you thinking about going to university when you finish school or college? Not sure where you want to study? Would you like to know more about what options are available to you? As well as find out how to receive lower offers from leading universities? If so, then the Realising Opportunities (RO) may be exactly what you're looking for!

Realising Opportunities (RO) is a unique collaboration of leading, research intensive universities, working together to promote fair access and social mobility of students from groups underrepresented in higher education.

Applications open on Monday 1 September and close on Friday 21 November 2025.

Please note: you need to attend a Realising Opportunities school or college to apply for this programme. 

Key Dates

In order to successfully complete Realising Opportunities and be eligible for the benefits of the programme, you need to complete an online, Skills4Uni module, attend two events and complete all elements of the ASM. Please see below planned events (more to be added):

  • Tuesday 3 February 2026 – Launch Event
  • March 2026 – RO Partnership Fair 
  • Thursday 28 May 2026 – Academic Skills Module 
  • September 2026 – RO Relaunch
