The University of Leicester in partnership with the Dalian University of Technology and the Chinese Scholarship Council are offering 6 PhD scholarships
- Annual stipend funded through the China Scholarship Council
- Tuition fee waiver from University of Leicester
These scholarships are open to high-achieving international students currently studying their undergraduate and postgraduate taught degrees at the Dalian University of Technology.
The subject areas that these include are within:
- School of Chemistry (PhD Chemistry)
- School of Engineering (PhD Engineering)
- School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences (PhD Mathematics)

- DLI provides 20,000 RMB and University of Leicester provides international fee waiver.
- Only available to DLI students.
Projects available for both schemes to follow
Up to two projects can be selected. Please ensure you list the names of the project supervisors and the project titles you want to be considered for on the research proposal section of the online application. List in order of preference.

This 4-year scholarship provides:
- International tuition fee waiver provided by the University of Leicester
- Annual stipend funded through the China Scholarship Council
7 DUT-University of Leicester collaborative PhD studentships in Chemistry, Engineering and Maths
This studentship provides:
- DLI provides 20,000 RMB and University of Leicester provides international fee waiver.
- Available to DLI applicants only

UK Bachelor Degree with at least 2:1 in a relevant subject or overseas equivalent.
The University of Leicester English language requirements apply where applicable.

- Degree certificates and transcripts of study already completed and if possible transcripts to date of study currently being undertaken
- Personal statement
- Evidence of English language if available

- In the funding section, please state DUT 2025 scholarship
- In the research proposal section, please provide the names of the project supervisors and the project titles you want to be considered for. You can select up to 2 projects. List both in order of preference. (a research proposal is not required)

The studentships are available to current students of the School of Chemical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology or the Dalian Leicester Institute only.
