Opportunity to study and work in Hong Kong
Two cities. Two degrees. Fantastic opportunities.
Our partnership with Lingnan University, Hong Kong allowing you to study either our MSc Finance or MSc Banking and International Finance programmes at Leicester before spending six months in Hong Kong studying their MSc International Banking and Finance (MIBF) course.
Following this you'll have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in one of the most vibrant international financial centres in the world.
Eligibility
If you are studying on either our MSc Finance or MSc Banking and International Finance you must undertake set modules to apply for the MSc International Banking and Finance at Lingnan. Details of these modules can be found below:
Corporate Finance
- Core module on MSc Banking and International Finance
- Core module on MSc Finance
International Money and Finance
- Core module on MSc Banking and International Finance
Financial Analysis and Investment
- Core module on MSc Banking and International Finance
- Core module on MSc Finance
Principles of Banking
- Core module on MSc Banking and International Finance
Financial Statement Analysis
- Core module on MSc Banking and International Finance
- Core module on MSc Finance
Applications for the dual awards partnership are assessed by both the University of Leicester and Lingnan University and you must have received 60% in the required modules.
Once your application has been accepted and you have successfully graduated from the School of Business you will begin your studies in Hong Kong in January. At Lingnan you will study two modules:
- Fixed Income Securities
- Advanced Financial Economics OR Quantitative Methods for Finance and Economics
Fees
You will pay the full fee for your MSc at the School of Business and then 50% of the fee for the MSc at Lingnan.
Working in Hong Kong
When you complete your MSc at the School of Business and then your MSc at Lingnan you will have the opportunity to remain in Hong Kong and search for employment under Hong Kong’s Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates even if you do not hold a formal job offer.

If you are an eligible student at Leicester, please complete the application form (Word document, 124kb), and contact two members of teaching staff to complete a referee form (Word document, 241kb).
You will also need to submit to us the following:
- Bachelor's degree certificate
- Bachelor's degree transcript
- Passport scan
