University of Leicester and The University of Law open new routes into legal careers

Graduates will be able to prepare for legal careers without leaving Leicester through a new partnership between the University of Leicester and The University of Law (ULaw).
From September 2026, ULaw will teach a range of full-time postgraduate legal courses in person on the University of Leicester campus.
The courses include the LLM Legal Practice, which prepares aspiring solicitors for both stages of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination, and the Postgraduate Diploma in Law, a conversion course for graduates whose first degree is not in law.
Under the partnership, University of Leicester graduates will be guaranteed a place on eligible University of Law courses*, receive a £250 reduction in course fees and have access to The University of Law’s Future Lawyer Scholarship.
The partnership was formally launched at a meeting between the vice-chancellors of both universities as Leicester Law School celebrates its 60th anniversary.
The College for Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities is supporting three cash prizes for Leicester graduates in July 2027 who go on to study with ULaw at the Leicester campus. It is offering one £500 prize for the law graduate with the most outstanding grades and two £250 prizes for Leicester non-law students.
