Colleagues from across Leicester’s arts, culture and heritage programmes will come together this May at the national Museums + Heritage Show trade fair to showcase the wide range of services that the University offers to the arts, culture and heritage sector.

The Museums + Heritage Show is the UK’s largest gathering of professionals working across museums, galleries and heritage visitor attractions. Taking place at Olympia London on 13 and 14 May 2026, the event provides an important national platform for sector organisations to share ideas, explore innovation and build strategic connections.

The University of Leicester’s presence at the show will showcase the wealth of expertise the institution offers the sector – from degrees and professional development across a wide range of disciplines, to sector‑leading research and policy making, through to consultancy and a specialism in inclusive practice. The stand will strengthen the University’s profile nationally and act as a catalyst for income generation through new partnerships and consultancy opportunities.

The stand is an initiative led by Attenborough Arts Centre (AAC) and the Heritage Hub, bringing together colleagues from the School of Heritage and Culture, Institute for Digital Culture, Research Centre for Museums and Galleries, LeicSurvey and the Creative Health Network. Collectively, they represent expertise spanning research, education, and public and community engagement – demonstrating the value of joined‑up working across the institution.

The show coincides with the Museums + Heritage Awards, a flagship celebration of excellence across the sector. Attenborough Arts Centre has been nominated for the Team of the Year award, recognising the outstanding, nationally significant impact delivered by its Marketing department. The awards ceremony takes place in London on Wednesday 13 May 2026.

Visitors to the Museums + Heritage Show are invited to visit the University of Leicester stand to meet colleagues, explore opportunities for collaboration, and find out more about how the University supports museums and heritage organisations across the UK and beyond.
