New Director of External Relations appointed at University of Leicester

Martyn Edwards has been appointed the University of Leicester’s Director of External Relations and will join the institution on Monday 18 November. 

Martyn is currently Director of Marketing and Advancement at Loughborough University, where he provides strategic and operational leadership for the University’s marketing, communications, student recruitment and development activity.   

 In the role at Leicester, he will lead the External Relations Division which now encompasses Marketing, Communications and Engagement, Future Students Office and Attenborough Arts Centre. He will be an associate Executive Board Member and attend strategic away days. 

 Prior to joining Loughborough, Martyn has held a number of senior recruitment and marketing roles across different organisations within the HE sector including the British Council, The University of Nottingham and IDP Education. More recently he was Interim Director of Marketing, Recruitment and International at Swansea University. 

 Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Professional Services, Kerry Law, said: “Martyn joins Leicester as we celebrate a number of reputational milestones and we look forward seeing him apply his comprehensive experience in Higher Education to further drive and deliver our marketing, recruitment and external engagement ambition here at Leicester.
