Honorary Professor appointed Editor in Chief at international scientific journal
Honorary Professor and Consultant Radiologist at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, Professor Arumugam Rajesh, has been appointed as the new Editor in Chief of international scientific monthly journal, Clinical Radiology.
Professor Rajesh will take over from the current Editor, Dr Mike Weston, in September. He will continue to build on the success of the journal and develop its offering for subscribers around the globe.
Speaking about his new role, Professor Rajesh said: “It is a great honour to be appointed Editor-in-chief of the official scientific journal of the Royal College of Radiologists and I am looking forward to working with a fantastic editorial team involving experts across the globe.”
Professor Rajesh is an experienced Consultant, specialising in hepatobiliary imaging, inflammatory bowel disease and urologic imaging. He graduated from Madras Medical College in India before completing his Radiology training at University Hospitals of Leicester. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at Indiana University School of Medicine in 2003, before taking up a consultant position at University Hospitals of Leicester.
Professor Rajesh has held numerous editorial roles with Radiology journals including Clinical Radiology and was awarded the prestigious Lee F Rogers International Fellowship in Radiology Journalism by the American Roentgen Ray Society in 2010. He is also the author of two textbooks on Crohn’s Disease and GU Imaging and an invited speaker at many international meetings.
