Leicester named as one of the world’s best universities
The University of Leicester has once again been named as one of world’s best universities in the 2021 Times Higher Education (THE) world rankings.
Leicester retains its spot as one of the top 25 UK universities featured in the prestigious list, after being ranked 23rd in the list of UK universities featured in the top 200.
The University achieved an overall global ranking of 170.
Professor Nishan Canagarajah, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester said:
“I am incredibly proud of our achievement and delighted that the University of Leicester is recognised as global leader in teaching and research. The pioneering research undertaken by our British universities and the global value we add has never been more important. This ranking is one of the measures we use to capture the excellent research and education offered and delivered by the staff and students in this University.
Leicester was particularly commended for its citations (96.2) and international outlook (90.7).
Published annually, the list rates more than 1,500 universities from 93 countries and regions in five areas: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
