University of Leicester sponsors awards celebrating achievements in local schools
The University of Leicester will be the headline sponsor for the Leicester Mercury’s 2017 Education Awards. These awards are a special opportunity to recognise particularly outstanding students, and will take place on 7 December at the King Power Stadium.
Nominations are open for the next ten weeks, and will provide a chance to give special recognition to students who have gone above and beyond expectations. The awards will be handed out over 13 categories, with winners receiving a certificate of congratulations and a three course dinner.
A spokesperson for the University said: “The University of Leicester is both proud and delighted to sponsor the Leicester Mercury Education Awards, recognising outstanding work by students and staff throughout Leicester and Leicestershire.
“Pride and delight are intrinsic aspects of education: every student should be proud of what they achieve, every teacher is proud of their students – and we all have a natural pride in the city and county and the educational work we see going on around us every day.”
