Botanic Garden Plant Sale and Family Day

The University of Leicester’s Botanic Garden Plant Sale & Family Day is taking place on Sunday 3 July between 10:00am - 5:00pm on Glebe Road, Oadby, LE2 2LD.

It is the University’s biggest annual public open day, and an important fixture in the community's calendar. All the proceeds go to the Friends of the Botanic Garden, who support the Garden by funding developments.

There are specialist plants sales, arts and crafts stalls with sales and activities for children, environmental/wildlife societies with information and music and entertainments.

The event attracts between 1500-2000 visitors of all ages. Visitors can buy plants, and explore a variety of stalls around the themes covered by the Botanic Garden's work: education, research, botany, horticulture, conservation, sustainability, both global and local.

Richard Gornall, Director of the Botanic Garden, says: “Whether you are looking for plants for your garden, craft items for gifts, or an enjoyable day out with family, friends and neighbours, there is something for everyone.”

Entrance to the event is £4.50 per person (children are free).
