University of Leicester to honour distinguished leaders

The University of Leicester will celebrate the achievements of leaders and pioneers in their fields by conferring them with honorary degrees at ceremonies this week (21-22 January).

The distinguished figures honoured have all demonstrated their capacity for leadership at a local, national or international level. They will receive their honorary degrees at the ceremonies at De Montfort Hall before an audience of graduating students and their families.

President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Boyle said: “We are delighted to award honorary degrees to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in their fields of interest. They will have had an impact on Leicester, Leicestershire and society at large.

“We are proud of the association of our distinguished honorands with the University of Leicester and we hope that their personal accomplishments serve as inspiration to our own graduates as we celebrate their academic achievements.”
