Seven top ten subject areas in Guardian University Guide

The latest figures from the Guardian University Guide have ranked the University of Leicester at 32nd, placing us among the top third of the 119 higher education institutions in the UK listed in their rankings.

Our league table position is broken down into the very broad subject areas that Leicester offers. We have been ranked in the top five for five subject areas, while two more subjects appear in their respective top ten:

Social Policy & Administration (Criminology) – 3rd

Anatomy & Physiology (Cell Physiology and Pharmacology) – 3rd

Modern Languages – 3rd

Physics – 5th

Earth & Marine Sciences (Geology) – 4th

Forensic Science & Archaeology (Archaeology and Ancient History / Chemistry) – 10th

American Studies – 7th

In recent years, the University has invested significantly in its student experience including a £10 million redevelopment and expansion of our sports facilities, improvements to our accommodation provision, while our new state-of-the-art £42 million Centre for Medicine currently under construction aims to revolutionise medical teaching at the University.
