Hundreds of Clearing offers made by University of Leicester
The University of Leicester has already made hundreds of offers through Clearing since phone lines opened this morning.
A total of 90 call handlers are taking calls. As of 12.15pm we had more than 4,000 calls to our Clearing hotline and nearly 5,000 visitors to our Clearing website.
University of Leicester Provost, Professor Mark Peel, said: “We are really pleased with the interest shown in Leicester and by the way in which hundreds of applicants are taking advantage of the opportunity Clearing gives them to find the right course and university.
“We are still accepting qualified students on many of our courses at the University of Leicester.”

Update, 5pm on 13 August:
From 6.30am to 3pm, we have had more than 7,000 visitors to our Clearing website and there are still approximately 80 people online at any one time. Our call handlers have taken more than 5,700 calls and we have made more offers than this same point last year. Our clearing hotline will be open from 6.30am tomorrow (14 August).
