Spectrophotometers

In addition to a range of spectrophotometers for routine absorbance measurements and kinetic assays, the following spectrophotometers are available:

Perkin Elmer Lambda 35 UV/Vis Spectrophotometer

This spectrophotometer has a 6 position, Peltier controlled cell holder and is available for routine spectroscopic measurements, enzyme assays and DNA melting curves.

Perkin Elmer Lambda 850 UV/Vis spectrophotometer

The Perkin Elmer Lambda 850 spectrophotometer is a double beam, double monochromator instrument that can read absorbance values up to 8. The sample compartment has a custom-built holder for filters to check the transmission characteristics of optical filters used for microscopy.

Agilent8453 UV/Vis spectrophotometer

With the Agilent 8453 diode array spectrophotometer an entire uv/vis absorption spectrum (190 –1100 nm) can be collected in less than a second. The open sample compartment allows for easier access and cuvette handling and enables the cell holder to be linked directly to a number of accessories.

Horiba Fluorolog-3 Spectrofluorimeter

The Horiba Fluorolog 3 spectrofluorimeter offers unparalleled sensitivity, precision and versatility. This modular instrument is fitted with double-excitation and emission monochromators for low stray light levels. The lifetime module operates by the time-correlated single-photon (TCSP) method and uses LEDs at specific wavelengths as the excitation source
