Lending books and journals to other libraries

We accept requests for journal articles and book chapters, and for books from other libraries through a variety of document supply routes including through RapidILL, British Library Document Supply Service and OCLC Worldshare. 

Libraries can request journal articles and book chapters via RapidILL or via email quoting their British Library inter-lending account number. 

Libraries in the UK can request physical loans via email quoting their British Library inter-lending account number.

All journal articles and book chapters are sent digitally, physical items are posted to the requesting Library. We are unable to supply whole eBooks.

Journal article and book chapter requests must comply with UK Copyright Law and/or the licence for electronic holdings. 

We do not loan anything that is in high demand by our users, is reference only, or is rare, unique or fragile. All items are subject to recall but may be renewed on request.
