Heritage and Culture

The School of Heritage and Culture is home to world-class teaching and research in Ancient History, Archaeology and Museum Studies.  

Our Archaeology and Ancient History team is renowned for ground-breaking research and discoveries, while Museum Studies has led the field in innovation and practice for over 60 years. Our students and staff play a key role in the Heritage Hub, facilitating acclaimed heritage partnerships, projects and events across the region.

The School also hosts prestigious research centres including the Research Centre for Museums and Galleries, recipient of the Museums and Heritage Awards 2024, and the award-winning University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS).
