Code prefixes are used to indicate a module's subject area on your transcript:

Module outcomes
The following module outcome codes are used to indicate the result you achieved in each module:
Undergraduate marks and grades
- P: indicates a pass with a mark in the honours range (40% and above)
- PC/C: indicates a pass with a mark at credit level only (35%-39%)
- PM: indicates a pass with a mark in the honours range (40% and above) with mitigating circumstances
- F: indicates a fail
- FC: indicates a compensated fail with a mark at credit level only (35%-39%)
- FM/M: indicates a fail with mitigating circumstances
- FQ/Q: indicates a qualified fail*
- MC: indicates a pass with a mark at credit level only (35%-39%) with mitigating circumstances
- MQ: indicates a qualified fail* with mitigating circumstances
MBChB grades
- SA: indicates a satisfactory pass
- ME: indicates a pass with merit
- DI: indicates a pass with distinction
- EX: indicates an excellent pass
- U: indicates a fail/unsatisfactory
Postgraduate marks and grades
- P: indicates a pass
- A: indicates a pass in the range of 70%-100%
- B: indicates a pass in the range of 60%-69%
- C: indicates a pass in the range 50%-59%
- D: indicates a fail in the range 40%-49%
- DQ: indicates a fail in the range 40%-49%*
- AM: indicates a pass in the range 70%-100% with mitigating circumstances
- BM: indicates a pass in the range 60%-69% with mitigating circumstances
- CM: indicates a pass in the range 50%-59% with mitigating circumstances
- DM: indicates a fail in the range 40%-49% with mitigating circumstances
- DR: indicates a qualified fail with mitigating circumstances in the range 40%-100%
- F: indicates a fail
- FM/M: indicates a fail with mitigating circumstances
- FQ: indicates a qualified fail*
- MQ: indicates a qualified fail* with mitigating circumstances
- R: indicates a pass at resit, the module mark is capped at 50%
*Qualified fail: Failure to pass each element of assessment results in the overall failure of the module.
Awards
The following overall classifications are used to indicate your final result achieved:
Undergraduate awards
- First Class Honours: 70% and above
- Upper Second Class Honours: 60%-69%
- Lower Second Class Honours: 50%-59%
- Third Class Honours: 40%-49%
Postgraduate awards
- Distinction: 70% and above
- Merit: 60%-69%
- Pass: 50%-59%
