Back by popular demand with new dates added

The Local Farmers’ and Producers’ Market is returning to the University of Leicester by popular demand, giving staff, students and visitors more opportunities to discover local produce, support independent businesses and find something a little different.

Following the fantastic support shown by our citizens, UoL Food and Drink is delighted to welcome the market back twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesday of selected months.

Opening from 10am to 3pm, the market will bring an even wider variety of stalls to campus, celebrating local traders, independent makers and the fantastic products they have to offer.

Making a difference by shopping local

Independent businesses are an important part of our local community. Choosing to buy from local farmers, producers and independent traders helps support their livelihoods, celebrates their hard work and helps local enterprise thrive.

Every purchase, however big or small, can make a difference. By choosing to shop locally, we can help small businesses grow while enjoying the unique products, personal service and passion that independent traders bring to our community.

We also encourage everyone visiting the market to treat traders with kindness, patience and respect. Behind every stall is someone who has invested time, effort and care into bringing their products to campus. A friendly conversation, a little understanding and a supportive attitude can go a long way in making the market a positive experience for everyone.

Whether you're stopping by between lectures, taking a break from work or looking for something special, we encourage citizens and visitors to come along, explore the stalls and show their support for local businesses.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Farmers’ and Producers’ Market on campus!
