The significant increase in processing power, now available in compact and energy-efficient packages, has propelled the digital revolution, which has permeated every sector of the economy. Embedded systems have become even more prominent and the demand for experts in this domain is poised to further escalate.

Our MSc program in Embedded Systems and Control Engineering is focused on hands-on experience in electronics design and practical applications, complemented by control theory and modules emphasising the utilisation of digital technologies.

You'll explore a wide range of applications, spanning from medical electronics to e-health, with a substantial emphasis on practical assignments to enhance your proficiency in software and digital hardware implementation. This includes working with microcontrollers, FPGA, DSP devices, and system-on-chip methodology.

Good second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.

English Language Requirements

IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.

This degree is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Candidates must hold a CEng accredited BEng/BSc (Hons) undergraduate first degree to fully meet the CEng registration educational requirements.
