Sustainable Materials and Resources

Developing new materials, technologies and approaches for a circular and sustainable economy.

Our research spans sustainable materials chemistry, critical mineral resources and responsible resource extraction, including geometallurgy and greener approaches to mineral processing and metal extraction.

We are also developing new battery technologies and strategies for recovering and recycling critical materials, helping to improve the economic and environmental sustainability of resource use.

Much of our research is conducted through the University's Centres for Sustainable Resource Extraction and Sustainable Materials Processing.
