Harnessing molecular and chemical understanding to investigate biological systems and develop new approaches to detection, diagnosis and intervention.

Our research combines structural biology, structure-based drug discovery and single-molecule approaches to understand complex and dynamic biological processes. We use chemical biology to develop bioactive molecules with novel therapeutic applications and create sensors and diagnostic technologies for applications ranging from healthcare to environmental monitoring.

Much of our research is conducted through the University’s Institute for Structural and Chemical Biology and Centre for Environmental Health and Sustainability.
