PhD Student
After completing a BSc Environmental Sciences and MRes Atmospheric Chemistry at the University of Brighton, I began my PhD in the School of Chemistry at the University of Leicester in 2022.
My research focuses on health inequalities from air pollution exposure in deprived communities, with a particular interest in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the outdoor environment. I utilise gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to measure VOCs across Leicester, and modelling techniques such as land-use regression to create higher spatial resolution exposure assessment tools. I am an accredited researcher within the Office for National Statistics (ONS), giving me access to individual-level health and social datasets, in order to assess the relationship between air pollution exposure and health inequalities in deprived communities.
