Research and Enterprise Division

The Research and Enterprise Division (RED) works in partnership with colleagues in academic Departments, Colleges and professional services to provide comprehensive support for research, enterprise, impact and knowledge exchange activity.

We can help you with finding internal funding and external funding including support and peer review from our Key Funder Groups. There is information on the application process including developing and costing grant applications, pricing, submitting funding bids and the administration of awards. The Library provides support on management of and access to Research Data. We also provide guidance on the University's approach to ethics and impact. Specialist support in developing projects and bids is provided by a team for each College.

If working with partners outside academia, we can help colleagues with contracts, protecting and commercialising intellectual property, setting up consultancy projects, arranging analytical/facilities and equipment service contracts and developing CPD and short courses.

Our Doctoral College helps PhD students develop as a researcher. Our policies include guidance on our code of conduct and ethics, pricing and impact and you can find out more about our preparations for REF 2021.
