Winter Wonderland

Join us on campus for our Winter Wonderland celebrations from 10.00am on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 December 2025 to create magical moments this festive season. The University of Leicester wishes all our students, staff, alumni, friends and neighbours a very happy 2026.

Activities on Tuesday 2 December

Inside the Percy Gee Building, SU Square

• The return of the Ice Rink (10.00am-5.00pm): Come and take a spin around our synthetic ice rink. Skates and supportive penguins provided.
• Students’ Union Winter Fete (11.00am-3.00pm): Join the LSU for their Winter Fete, featuring SU and University stalls as well as small sellers, festive treats and fun vibes! Find out more about our events.

Inside the Charles Wilson Building, in the Global Lounge

• Chill, chat, crafts (12.00pm-2.00pm): with the Chaplain for International Students and the International Wellbeing Case Manager – book your free place.
• Let’s Do Leicester Boardgames – with festive games (12.00pm-2.00pm) : no booking required.
• International Quiz Night (5.30pm-7.30pm) with Christmas-themed rounds – book your free place.

Activities on Wednesday 3 December

• Attenborough Art Centre sessions (11.00am-4.00pm): Take part in a free festive arts & crafts workshop delivered by Attenborough Arts Centre tutors throughout the day!
• Christmas Market: Grab a bite to eat, enjoy some festive drinks, and start your Christmas gift shopping.
• Student society live performances: You're invited to come and watch our different music groups perform as part of Winter Wonderland and spread the festive cheer! Performances to be confirmed.
