It is with great sadness that we have to report to colleagues across the institution that Mark Rudkin, a member of our Security team, passed away unexpectedly last week whilst at home. Mark was a Security Patrol Officer who had worked at the University since September 2012.

Leicester’s Hospitals has entered into an important Memorandum of Understanding with the Nantong University Affiliated Hospital, China. The agreement intends to promote cooperation in medical research, training and education between the two institutions.

At the time of writing, Dr Mark Sims (pictured), who graduated from the University in 2013 with a Medicine MBChB, has raised a staggering £109,192 for Cancer Research UK through his JustGiving page.

Our Botanic Garden is to take pride of place in the prestigious national Britain in Bloom finals. On Wednesday 2 August, Oadby & Wigston borough will be representing the East Midlands region in the Britain in Bloom competition.
