Research opportunities
LIAS engages with local, national and international communities and strategic partners to provide collaborative and interdisciplinary opportunities. We are open to new ideas and methodologies that address real-world challenges through research, and offer varied support for projects to come to fruition. There are currently no thematic priorities.
Three pump-priming schemes and a Fellowship Alumni Network run throughout the academic year (September – July). Awarded projects must have a Leicester-based academic lead and core team, however the involvement of wider academic and/or non-academic partners is welcomed.

Pioneering Partnerships
The Pioneering Partnerships scheme offers up to £6,000 to develop existing and ambitious challenge-led collaborations with clear trajectory pathways. Awarded projects should prepare the way for others to join and follow, and will demonstrate recognition of legacy building.
Into the City
Up to £2,000 is offered to successful applications to support co-created interdisciplinary partnerships with collaborators in the city of Leicester. We are especially keen to support projects with an innovative public engagement and impact remit.
LIAS Seed Corn
This scheme provides up to £1,000 support to foster and develop new and untested interdisciplinary ideas, events and newly formed collaborations and partnerships.
