• Geoscience in Pixels. Attenborough Arts Centre Gallery Lates event on 12 May. Exhibition in Digital Culture Suite in David Wilson Library 12 May – 31 July. Interdisciplinary collaborative project between Centre members Ed Thomas, Anna McGairy, Manlin Zhang, and artist Rosa Francesca, in collaboration with Attenborough Arts Centre, Institute for Digital Culture, and Paul Long (MBD), with funding from Wellcome Trust ISSF and Institute for Digital Culture, focussed on fieldwork challenges for disabled students.
• Public engagement activities at the British Science Festival led by the Centre were well attended and led to international media coverage.
• March 2023: public engagement event The Time Travelling Environmentalists Guide to Leicester was very successful with lots of engagement from the wider public as well as helping to further develop collaborations with Leicester City Council and Claudia Webbe the MP for Leicester East. Media coverage on the BBC website and on BBC Radio Leicester.
• March 2023: Centre PhD Anna McGairy, Tom Green, Manlin Zhang and Hannah Sellers ran an engagement event at Science in the Park at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham. The event included finding and learning about fossils from the Phosphate Sands of Oued Zem and how fossil pollen can be used to reconstruct past environments, hopefully inspiring future scientists!
