Outreach

Our Education and Outreach programme provides support for teachers, students and the wider community. Our goal is to help everyone engage with science and to encourage more young people to take an interest in science and include it in their further studies.

We run a number of programmes ourselves, and also collaborate with a range of other exciting projects.

Leicester Physics Centre

The Leicester Physics Centre presents a series of physics-based evening lectures, with the aim of promoting the wonder of science to members of the public of all ages, free of charge.

More about the Centre

Space School UK

The Space School is a week-long summer holiday residential course for students aged 13-18, where budding scientists can explore space and astronomy through talks and practical workshops.

The Planeterrella

We are home to a Planeterrella - a small vacuum chamber within which we recreate auroral lights around magnetic spheres, and visualise cosmic phenomena.
