Profile

For an up to date list of my publications and outputs, please use the Research Gate, ORCiD and Google Scholar links above.

I completed an Access to Higher Education programme in Combined Sciences during 2014/15. I then attained a BSc (Hons) in Geography in 2018 and an MSc in Geographical Information Systems and Environmental Management in 2019, both from the University of Brighton. After graduating I spent two years working in sustainability and environment. During this time, I co-authored a paper looking at changes in atmospheric composition within South East England during the Spring 2020 COVID-19 lockdown used by the DEFRA Air Quality Expert Group (AQEG). This paper was furthered into a full research article accepted for publication in 2020. In 2021 I joined the University of Leicester as a PhD researcher focusing on COVID-19 and Atmospheric Chemistry.

Research

My PhD is entitled ""COVID-19 and Air Pollution - Views of possible futures?"" and is funded by CENTA-NERC.

My research seeks to examine whether changes in ambient air quality as a consequence of global measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (lockdowns, travel bans etc.) are an example of ambient air quality within a decarbonised society, and the lessons that we can take from this potential glimpse of the future. It explores whether the reduction in anthropogenic activity during COVID-19 restrictions can be instead considered a reduction in fossil fuel combustion similar to that expected with the ongoing shift towards electrification and low carbon fuels.

Supervision

My PhD is supervised by:
