My research focusses on the intersections of law gender sex and sexuality. I am interested in how the law changes shapes and effects people’s relationships and their sexuality encouraging or discouraging certain forms of sexuality and also the relationship of law and gender paticualrly for transgender people. I primarily research and write on relationship recognition for LGBTQ people and their lived experiences particularly same-sex marriage and civil partnerships informed by queer legal theory analysis. I am co-editor of the forthcoming Edward Elgar Gender Sexuality and Law: A Textbook. I have also published in Law and Literature.
