How to find us

Leicester Railway StationIf you come by train…

Leicester is really easy to reach by train. We’re on the north-south line between London and Sheffield, and on the east-west line between Birmingham and Stansted. A train from St Pancras takes just over an hour to reach Leicester.

There will be Student Ambassadors at Leicester Station between 8.00am and 1.00pm. You can’t miss them: bright red tops and big, welcoming smiles.

A University of Leicester shuttle bus will run between the station and campus every 20 minutes from 8.20am to 3.40pm. Our Student Ambassadors will direct you to the pick-up point. Or if you'd rather walk, the Student Ambassadors will direct you (the journey is less than a mile).

If you come by car…

Our pedestrian- and bike-friendly campus only has parking for disabled visitors. So instead of putting our postcode into your satnav, use LE2 4AL. This will take you to Leicester Racecourse, a couple of miles south of the University, with a continuous park-and-ride bus service running to and from campus throughout the day. Parking and the shuttle bus are both free. There will be University staff and Student Ambassadors at the Racecourse to welcome and help you.

Please note that the Racecourse car park opens at 8.00am and closes at 4.00pm. If you are planning to spend time in Leicester after the Open Day, you will need to move your car before the car park closes.

If you, or someone with you, needs a disabled parking space on campus, please contact study@le.ac.uk.

If you already live in Leicester…

Two Arriva bus routes run along University Road: the U1/U2/U3 (during term time) and the 47/48. We also have lots of bike racks if you want to cycle here.

If you've come a long way...

You might want to stay overnight when you come to visit us. There are plenty of hotels to choose from in the city centre - the Premier Inn and The Belmont Hotel are the closest to campus.
