Modern Languages

Resources and facilities

As part of our quality teaching and research, Modern Languages at Leicester hosts a cutting-edge suite of facilities to help you learn and research.

Our Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies is fully equipped with state-of-the-art language laboratories, as well as a large library of visual and aural materials from broadcast and internet sources. Our school also features cutting-edge interpreting booths.

The Modern Language Study Centre (MLSC) offers an open space for study, with PCs, printing facilities, audio-visual equipment and a large library of learning materials in French, Spanish and Italian.

In addition, we regularly present a programme of seminars to showcase our work, at which visitors are most welcome to attend, alongside a range of symposia and conferences.

The student-run Modern Languages Society offers a lively programme of social activities for undergraduates, while MA and doctoral students can join the University of Leicester Modern Languages Society for Postgraduates.

If you are interested in finding out more about what we have to offer, do come and visit us on one of the University's open days.
