UKRI - IAA funding project support
UKRI - Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAAs)
Impact acceleration accounts (IAAs) are strategic awards providing funding to research organisations to use creatively for a wide range of impact activities.
The aim of this programme is to speed up the transition from discovery research to translational development projects. It will do this by funding preliminary work to establish the viability of an approach and to rapidly de-risk projects across the whole translational pathway.
Since 2014 LD3 has received eight rounds of awards, which represents a valuable source of pump-prime funding for academics at the University of Leicester to initiate new collaborations and multi-disciplinary projects.
Funding calls are organised on a yearly basis. Clinical and non-clinical academics with projects from all stages of translational research – from Proof of Concept through prototype production/validation and onto early clinical implementation – are encouraged to apply. We particularly welcome applications from Early Career Researchers.
See Governance for more information about funding calls and submission process.
