Languages at Leicester delivers the University-Wide Language Programme, offering short courses in 16 languages and at different levels.

The purpose of Languages at Leicester is to provide tuition for non-specialists. It therefore concentrates on communication for practical purposes and supports the development of the 4 language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).

We have a large team of language tutors who are all qualified and passionate teachers. They are native speakers, who will emphasise on accuracy, while also giving you a real-world, practical foundation that will allow you to start using the language as early as possible – the key to rapid improvement, and the most satisfying way to learn.

We are an open and friendly team so please do feel free to contact us with any of your language queries and we will do out best to help. Throughout the year we do run various events and opportunities to come along and meet us so do take a look at our events section.

The majority of our courses take place from Monday to Thursday during evenings. However, we also offer some courses on Wednesday afternoons as well as fast track (intensive) courses on Saturday mornings.
