What the Butler Saw

50 years after the play premiered, this event was a chance to look at the lasting impact of Orton's What The Butler Saw and the contemporary issues it addresses.

The discussion panel at the British Library included directors John Tillinger and Nikolai Foster, and actors Timothy West ('Rance' in the 1987 production), Hayward Morse and Julia Foster 'Nick' and 'Geraldine' in the original 1969 cast).

The event was chaired by Dr Emma Parker, Associate Professor in Post-War and Contemporary Literature, School of Arts, University of Leicester.
