Geography at Leicester is home to a vibrant community of researchers, both physical and human geographers, undertaking research that spans the entire discipline. We are committed to research and teaching excellence that is motivated by discovery and innovation.

Research centres

In Geography we have two research centres that provide the intellectual space for the research strengths and trajectories of the department, and each centre is the home of focused research themes.

We are also home to the Pete Fisher Unit for GIScience, which is a Centre of Excellence for multi-disciplinary research at the University of Leicester, focused on the development, use, and critique of Geographic Information Science and geographic data science methods.
