LGBT@SoE

Every month in the school year, the School of Education hosts Schools OUT East Midlands, an LGBT educators’ support, education and campaigning group.

This group is open to anyone studying or working within education (in its widest sense) who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, transgender or questioning, and also to those interested in diversity and inclusion who want to learn more about tackling homophobia in education.

We meet on every second Wednesday of the month from October to June to share our experiences and provide support for each other, as well as looking for opportunities to contribute to anti-homophobic practice in education settings.
