School of Education

Working in the School of Education

We regularly have openings in our staff team, both through permanent and more flexible roles, for those who bring a passion and talent for developing great teachers and leaders.

Our core purpose is to improve the life chances of children and young people by working with students on teacher training (PGCE), Masters and doctoral programmes; teachers; and schools. We work in Partnership with schools, multi-academy trusts and teaching schools across the city, county and East Midlands region.

This means our staff have a varied and interesting role both within the University and in schools. Staff work in supportive teams, and have the opportunity to gain further qualifications and engage in research.

The School of Education currently has around 30 academic staff, plus a number of associate tutors, with a professional services team supporting all aspects of our work. The School is based on University Road, a few minutes' walk from the main campus of the University and close to Leicester's railway station.
