Geographical Information Science

MSc, 1-2 years, full- or part-time

This is for you if... you want a thorough grounding in the theory and practice of both Geographical Information Systems (the software tools) and Geographical Information Science (the technical discipline).

Course Description

Geographic Information (GI) plays an increasingly important role in many areas of our lives: environmental protection, business and marketing, communications, forecasting, modelling, agriculture, and local and regional planning.

Understanding GI systems (the software tools) and GI science (the technical discipline) is essential for effective management and analysis of spatial data.

The MSc in Geographical Information Science comprises an induction followed by a set of six taught modules in contemporary subjects, and a dissertation.
