Course description

The technical focus of this degree is study of a coherent selection of electrical and electronic engineering subjects to advanced level. Module combinations include communications and signal processing through control engineering to electrical machines and drives. This course is ideal for any engineer who wishes to specialise in electrical disciplines in combination with a rigorous introduction to those management theories, models, frameworks and techniques that are likely to be important to a professional engineer.

The combination of advanced technical engineering skills and knowledge of management theory and practice will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to secure leadership roles in global engineering industries.

Entry requirements

Good second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

English Language Requirements

IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.

  • MSc with Industry: £11,800

An additional fee of £3,520 will be charged if a placement is secured.

If you are resident outside the UK and the Republic of Ireland, you will need to pay a deposit of £3,000 to secure your place. This will be subtracted from your total tuition fee.

Teaching and learning

Teaching methods include lectures and seminars supported by practical and lab work. Assessment is a mix of open and closed exams and continuous assessment. Your dissertation will be assessed separately.
