The mission for G-STEP was to promote the use of satellite, aerial and ground monitoring Earth Observation data in order to improve regional competitiveness. It facilitates knowledge transfer and collaborations between businesses and academic researchers. G-STEP was shortlisted for the THE Leadership and Management Awards in the Knowledge Exchange/Transfer Initiative of the Year category in 2012.
