- Improve your ability to read academic texts
- Develop your understanding of criticality
- Be able to write better paragraphs
- Write an effective essay introduction and conclusion
- Be able to engage in academic discussions and present your views
- Expand your academic vocabulary
- Be able to use appropriate in-text citation and bibliographical referencing techniques
- Have a better understanding of assignment briefs

- Learn to use strategies for unpacking complex texts
- Understand how a text is structured
- Recognise how to evaluate data and write a commentary
- Expand your academic and discipline specific vocabulary
- Be able to identify connections between texts and synthesise the arguments
- Write simple and extended definitions
