Clarendon Park
Just a short walk from campus is the vibrant and friendly neighbourhood of Clarendon Park. Many students choose to make Clarendon Park home in their second and third years and it's easy to see why with the wonderful selection of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants along Queens Road. Don't miss happy hour cocktails at Bar Dos Hermanos, the finest homemade cakes and pastries from The Tiny Bakery and freshly baked Pasteis de Nata at Port and Nata.

Between campus and The Village you'll find the charming area of Stoneygate. Along the main Stoneygate shopping streets of Allandale Road and Francis Street you can explore micropubs, delis, gift shops and more. Don't miss The Real Ale Classroom, which is a must visit for craft beer and gin drinkers, and The Coffee Obsessive who pride themselves on sourcing the best small batch roasted coffee from across the world. You can also stop off at The Allandale for their daily bottomless happy hour.
The Village
For those living in accommodation at The Village, you'll enjoy being part of your own buzzing social community with on-site events and activities. The Village has its own on-site Hub with cinema room, music rooms, event space and pub serving food and drinks. Enjoy regular pub quizzes and more in the perfect space to make friends. Of course, feeling at home is of the utmost importance and our teams are available 24 hours a day for any help and advice.
Day trips
Surrounding the city, the county of Leicestershire has some beautiful spaces to explore. Visit Bradgate Park, an 850 acre deer park steeped in history and recently voted in the UK's top 10 most picturesque walking spots. Or enjoy a day out by the water at Foxton Locks, watching the canal boats pass through the longest and steepest staircase of locks in the country. Closer to the city, don't miss a day out at the National Space Centre. Discover your inner astronaut at the out of this world experience uncovering space history and research.
The campus is in the perfect location right in between the city centre and Clarendon Park, an area I now call home. I'm never more than 5 minutes from anything I need, whether that's groceries, the library or a cocktail.
