School of Chemical, Earth and Environmental Sciences
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
The School of Chemical, Earth and Environmental Sciences has a strong and long-term commitment to ensuring that anyone with a passion for chemistry, earth and environmental sciences, whatever their background, can thrive and succeed. We pride ourselves on having created a friendly, inclusive School at all levels.
The School is commited to tackling gender inequality through the Athena SWAN Charter.
Within the School, our EDI Committee leads on developing actions to address issues within this sphere, with measurable success. We have recently been awarded a grant from the Royal Society of Chemistry for a three-year project, Polymerise, aimed to tackle racial inequality in chemistry.
Our Values
We oppose bullying, discrimination, and inappropriate behaviour in all forms. We are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where everyone is free from harassment, bullying, and discrimination. This is a fundamental value of our School, and guides how we collaborate with and care for each other, creating a community where everyone can thrive.
