Donations, bequests and memorials

We would be delighted to receive donations to enhance the collections or facilities at the Botanic Garden or Attenborough Arboretum.

We invite you to:

• Leave a legacy in your will, either directly to the Botanic Garden or to the Friends of the Botanic Garden
• Make a financial contribution to mark your enjoyment of the Botanic Garden, as a thank you after a visit
• Donate a sum of money in someone’s memory or to commemorate any other important event in your life; by agreement, the money would be used to contribute to the purchase of a plant or seat or something similar

Please note that in the case of donated commemorative plant specimens, we do not label them with special plaques and cannot guarantee their survival. We will, however, record all donations and let you know where the particular specimen is located.

In addition, we have an optional public record for all to see, which lists the various ways in which people have supported us. The record includes the date, your name, details of the donation e.g. plant specimen, seat or other item, and an optional dedication as appropriate.
