International Citizen of Change (India) Scholarship

We are proud to welcome students from India each year. From launching a groundbreaking partnership with The Apollo University and Apollo Hospitals in India to having the largest UK Indian population outside of London, the University of Leicester would like to celebrate the close ties and long friendship our University and City have with people from India.

We’re excited to offer three tuition fee discounts, each worth £10,000 per year, to the best and brightest undergraduate applicants from India for the 2025-2026 academic intake.

Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship you must:

  • Be classed as an international student for fee purposes domiciled in India.
  • Have applied for a campus-based undergraduate degree* at the University of Leicester, starting September 2025.
  • Have received a conditional or unconditional offer from the University of Leicester.
  • Have passed your CAS interview (if applicable) by 10 August 2025.
  • Have paid your deposit of £3,000 by 5 August 2025.

*This scholarship is not available for degrees in Medicine, or the for the LLB/Maitrise in English and French Law.

How to apply

Application is via a short video and a written submission. You must submit both a video and a written submission to be considered for this scholarship.

The video should be no longer than two minutes. You should explain:

  • Why you’ve chosen the University of Leicester.
  • Your academic and career goals.
  • How this scholarship will help you achieve these goals.

The written submission should be no more than 500 words. You should answer these questions:

  • Why Leicester?
  • How will this scholarship assist you with your study/career plans?
  • What are your plans after graduation?
  • What change would you like to bring to this world?

Assessment

We will judge your video and essay in the following areas:

Impact

We will look at how impactful your answers and video submission is. Do your answers and video seem sincere, realistic, achievable and will the scholarship make a real difference to you, your plans and what you care about in the world?

Vision

This is about your thought process, your idea and how you’ve approached the topic and demonstrated your idea. Do your answers stand out from the crowd?

Communication

We will be looking at how you have presented your answers in both your video and the written application. How well can you demonstrate and summarise your responses?

Deadline

You must submit your video and essay, using this online form by no later than 5.00pm (UK time) on Tuesday 5 August 2025.

All shortlisted applicants will be notified by 15 August 2025.
