Undergraduates
Key dates
At the start of September each year, UCAS begin accepting applications for entry to university in October of the following year.
Key dates for 2025 entry
From 3 September 2024 you can begin submitting your UCAS applications for 2025 entry.
We strongly recommend you apply before the following deadlines. Late applications, including those from outside of the UK, are accepted by UCAS and the University of Leicester throughout the remainder of the application year, but are considered at the University’s discretion.
Equal consideration deadline
- Applications for Medicine are now closed.
- 29 January 2025 – Equal consideration deadline for all other undergraduate courses. Applications must be submitted by 6.00pm (UK time).
What is the equal consideration deadline?
The equal consideration deadline is the date by which all UCAS applications must be submitted to ensure that universities and colleges consider them equally.
Can you still apply after the equal consideration deadline?
Of course. You can still apply through the regular UCAS application system until 30 June 2025 (6.00pm UK time). Applications submitted after this date will automatically enter Clearing. However, keep in mind:
- After the equal consideration deadline, universities and colleges are not obligated to review your application, especially for high demand courses that may no longer have vacancies.
- It’s always best to check with individual universities or colleges if you’re unsure about course availability.
To maximise your chances, we strongly recommend you apply as early as possible.
Reply deadlines
Once you have made a decision about which course you would like to study, go to the UCAS Hub to finalise your decision. To avoid receiving an automatic decline of your offer(s) by UCAS, please ensure you meet the reply deadline.
Your reply deadline is based on when UCAS received the final decision in from the universities you have applied to. To see your personal deadline, check your application.
- If you receive your last decision on or before 14 May 2025, your reply date is 5 June 2025 (except if you're using UCAS Extra to find a place).
- If you receive your last decision on or before 17 July 2025, your reply date is 24 July 2025 (including Extra choices).
UCAS Extra
If you've used all five choices and are not holding any offers, you may be able to add another choice in your application. UCAS Extra opens on 26 February 2025.
- 4 July 2025 is the last day you can add an Extra choice to your application.
