International pathways

The University of Leicester has launched two international foundation year courses.

The Biological Sciences International Foundation and STEM International Foundation courses provide a pathway into undergraduate study in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in the UK. These programmes are ideal if you do not yet meet the academic requirements for direct entry onto a degree, or if you would benefit from additional preparation for studying in a UK university environment.

Entry requirements for the Foundation Year are typically lower than those for direct admission to an undergraduate degree. On successful completion of the programme, you will be able to progress to the first year of your chosen degree.

These foundation courses are designed to build your subject knowledge while developing the academic and study skills needed for university success. You will also gain practical, real-world skills that are valued by employers. You will also benefit from access to a dedicated on-campus careers service to help you plan your future.

Leicester is one of the UK’s most affordable and diverse cities, and the University reflects this diversity, creating an inclusive community where students from all backgrounds can feel at home.
