PPL PRS

Leicester-based PPL PRS Ltd is a joint venture between the UK’s two music licensing organisations: PPL and PRS for Music, to provide a streamlined music licensing service. Through ‘TheMusicLicence’ businesses no longer have to obtain separate licenses from each organisation to legally play and perform music in public.

The University of Leicester School of Business provided consultancy services to senior management to support the development of a five-year strategic plan. This led to the design and delivery of a customised programme for selected middle managers, to help realise the new strategic plan, build management capability, and strengthen succession planning.

2023: Future Leaders Management Development Programme (12 days across 10 months) – delivered face-to-face in six themed workshop blocks: Leading and Managing People and Organisations; Creating Great Value Propositions; Strategy, Finance and Decision-Making; Developing a Customer Focus; Digital Transformation; and Implementation of Strategic Plans. This programme began with an Orientation Workshop, culminated in an afternoon of strategic project presentations from delegates, and concluded with a Programme and Development Evaluation focus group session.

Nimira Kassam, People Services Director, PPL PRS

“PPL PRS are committed to investing in both our people and the future of the business. Working with the University of Leicester to create and deliver our Future Leaders programme meant that we were able to provide the best foundation and access tutors and course leaders who were extremely qualified and experienced in their fields.

All managers who were selected to participate in the Future Leaders course all provided positive feedback on the content, pace of the course, and the practical tools they were given and able to bring back into their working lives.

As the business continues to grow, and we look ahead to the future, we are navigating a period of change. Knowing that we have future leaders, five of whom have already been promoted, who are helping to build a strong and sustainable organisation that is equipped to succeed is key to our success.”
