  • 10 February 2020: University retains HR Excellence in Research Award 

  • 29 July 2019: Bethan Rogoyski wins "PhD Student of the Year" at the inaugural Postgraduate Awards, organised by FindAMasters.com and FindAPhD.com.

  • July 2019: School of Education PhD researcher Farhat Syyeda wins award at international conference ‘What motivates adult learners to return to education and study Mathematics’. 

  • May 2019: May Altae, PhD researcher from the School of Education nominated BELMAS Member of the Month, before presenting at East Meets West Conference in July 2019. 

  • 18 - 22 March 2019: Doctoral College Week provides insight into the work of researchers at the University

  • 22 February 2019: PhD student wins prestigious photography award. PhD student Louise Corscadden from the University’s Department of Genetics and Genome Biology has been named winner of the 2018–2019 Infectious Images Photography Competition.

  • 11 January 2019: Doctoral College Director awarded British Pharmacological Society Fellowship.

  • 11 December 2018: Team of University of Leicester researchers win National Award.

  • 4 December 2018: Doctoral College hosts successful Images of Research with over 150 visitors and 4 amazing winners.

  • 2 October 2018: Leicester academics with East Midlands Women's Awards. Professor Emma Bunce and Dr Emma Parker were recognised for their inspirational research.

  • 28 August 2018: Margaret Mead Lecture for Social Sciences 2018. Dr Oli Williams from the Department of Health Sciences wins prodigious award from the British Science Association.

  • 5 July 2018: Researchers recognised for their public engagement skills. Over 20 researchers take part in challenge to summarise their research in just 3 minutes.

  • 3 July 2018: Lunchtime lecture series opens for 2018/19 sessions. We are inviting researchers to submit their interest in speaking to a public audience about their research.

  • 12 April 2018: AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Partnership Student Shares Her Thoughts. PhD student Becky Lawton shares her positive experience studying with our University and the British Library through an AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Partnership. 

  • 4 May 2018: Gender study reveals how ‘performed’ personality traits can dictate success in the workplace Interesting and engaging research from one of our distance learners, catching the eye of the national media. Well done Amelia!
